I currently have a fixed rate mortgage with a rate of 6.9% (arghhhhhh) which is due to run out in june as are any penalties associated with the mortgage.
I was lucky and bought when houses where cheap and my mortgage is only £43,000 and monthy payments are only £270. I have had the house valued at £96,000. I want to remortgage and borrow an extra £5000 but have a ccj which is settled but wont come off my credit file untill 2011.
My question is will another company take me on with the ccj and borrow me the extra money. Secondly do I start appling for a remortgage now or do i have to wait untill june. Lastly can anyone give me any idea of what my monthly payments would be with the extra £5000 ( I am looking for another fixed rate as i like the security of knowing what my monthly payments will be)
Thanks in advance and im sorry if i sound clueless but i dont know the first thing about mortgages.
