Being Chased For A Debt 20 Years Old

Help ! Got divorced 20 years ago, gave her the house etc, small mortgage, house had a lot of equity. Now after moving numerous times I have received a letter for an outstanding loan that the Barrister/Solicitor had supposed to have taken into the divorce settlement. Anyone got any advice please.

Comments

  • Go to CAB and ask for proper advice.
Generally old loans etc are statute barred if no contact after 6 years but there may be OTHER circumstances here.
  • Many thanks for your reply, I follow through and see what I can find, hopefully all good.
