Just a thought for those selling on ebay to pay debts

Hi peeps,
Just had a revelation on this. Yes ebay is big etc but I have found that I am getting much better prices in the old fashioned LOOT paper. On ebay the prices that most stuff is now selling for is mediocre at best and bad at worst.
However loot works well because people arent all outbidding each other, first come first served and you set your own price and get paid in cash.
For example, I have an old P3 laptop that sold on ebay for £70 and the buyer never paid. However the same machines are going for upto 50% more on loot and have actually gone. Also no nasty paypal fees etc etc.
I know I could have posted this in the ebay board, but i thought here would be good start as it maximises your profit

Good point. I have a couple of large items I want to sell (I've looked on ebay and they don't go for much) so am going to put them in Loot and see how they do!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

Ebay is fast becoming over-saturated with goods, both real and fake. As an avid ebay seller I am finding it really difficult sometimes to get my auctions to be worthwhile - so I might give this LOOT a go for a few items that just wouldn't sell reliably on ebay! The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits...0

No, I've just looked on the website and it says they publish the paper in most areas of England. http://www.loot.com/rs6/homepage.asp?action=q&t=/general/about_loot/publications/papers/Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
I also think Amazon is a lot better to sell off books and dvds etc - there's far less people seller, so you're more likely to get a higher price and for your goods to actually sell!0

I sell loads on Ebay, but recently have started selling larger stuff in Ad MAg (I think this is like loot).
I tried to sell something for £20 on ebay for two months. Gave up and stuck it in admag for £40 this weekend and bingo! It sold. No p&P to worry about either.
I'm going to try this more often.!!!0 -
We don't have Loot round here but we do have a free publication called 'Friday Ads' which comes out on a friday (durr). There is only about 6 pages in it total.
I can see what you mean about ebay. Theres just far too many people on it selling a lot of the same things.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
