Viewfinder comp in Observer Escape section
This city is built on seven hills and has a long tradition of winemaking, fishing and shipbuilding. Today it is best known for its many surviving ansicent Roman buildings, the most fmaous of which is its 1st-century amphittheatre, the sixth largest in the wrodl. Irish writ james Joyce lived and worked here in 1904 and 1905. Name the city.
