Max2009 is correct to go over on a working holiday visa you need at least £2200 available.
Plus the cost of your flights, plus the cost of the visa.
It would be better for yourself to save up first then go.
TBH there is not much work on in Australia atm unless your willing to do fruit picking?
You cant guarantee you will get a job when your out there. Is a Bipolar bear

I actually read an article earlier today that the Ozzies are cutting back on skilled migrant workers visas and whilst theoretically it shouldnt affect working holiday visas you may find that when (and if) you get there then there is minimal chances for employment.
Plus surely applying for a loan for a car and then spending it travelling would be fraud or gaining money by deception?0 -
we had four months out to travel a number of years ago and australia was not cheap even then. You could look at going somewhere less expensive so it matters less whether or not you find a job when you get there. We LOVED south america and travelled in the Andes. There is work available in hostels, or probably further afield if you speak Spanish - plus plenty of cool sights to see. Good luck, hope you can find a way to do this without getting into more debt.fran-o0

@ Blue_Haddock - yup I read that today... thankfully that is for the skilled migrants visas rather than working holiday visas, and even then, it says that IT Professionals are still required - thats the area I am very skilled in

And I have got a new car fairly recently... could say it did get spent on that lol
@Fran-o - thanks, I hope to make it happen, I don't expect it to be cheap - cheap I'd aim for Thailand or Vietnam etc. But I will probably aim to stay in each area a couple of months doing contracting work short term before moving on.
As for £2200, it is just proof that you *can* get access to it. If this is done via a loan then that is fine as far as they are concerned (as long as its not from an Aussie bank anyways)0
