refurbished Digital Camera

Has anyone bought a refurbished camera? On the Fuji web site they offer refurbished digital cameras, Fuji finepix A120 at £49.99 with six months guarantee. This seems like a good deal, they also have the A403 and A205S at the same price. I want a simple camera, not much good with technology. Just one thing bothers me, they say they are shop returns etc, but if they have been returned were they not much good in the first place, or am I being cynical?
Could anyone reccomend a basic digital camera at the same sort of price? Thanks in advance for your advice.

refurb cameras are often good value - becuase technology moves so fast last years model is hard to sell - the refurb may have been very minor
at £50 you can hardly go wrong - try here as well

Think your being cynical. I bought a B-Grade (customer return) mp3 player purely for the saving over the RRP.
It can be the luck of the draw, all your losing out on is 6 months guarantee.0 -
I bought one from them about 18 months ago & it has been great. Mine is the A101, the bottom of the range, which I chose as I can get fazed by too much technology!
I think it was about £30, but I was a bit nervous for similar reasons to you. Pleasantly surprised with it though, looked like it had never been taken out of the box & a doddle to use. I would happily use them again. I'm sure it said on the site that they can be returns from shops (rather than necessarily from disgruntled customers).

I bought the f610 from them about a year ago - brilliant camera amazing specs for a great price. I think it was brand new - certainly no signs of use or the box even being opened.
Even better now at £119.00, so much so I recommended it to a friend who bought one yesterday.
All in all I think its mainly a way for them to get rid of older stock.
HTHIf at first you don't succeed - destroy all evidence that you tried.0
