hiya,
i bought teabags from Sainsbury for 28p, and i gave my family a cup of tea with them. they didnt know the difference between them and their usual brans. in fact they say it tastes much better.
try them out, excellent bargain 80 in a box and if you enjoy them, well happy days!!
thanks

Which supermarket has the cheapest tea?0

I bought some the other day after reading about them on MSE and tried them on my hubby (I only drink coffee, (Nescafe Gold Blend or ordinary Nescafe if Gold Blend is not on offer)
, and he said they were OK'ish, a bit "powdery" and like canteen tea (whatever that means??). I can't get him to change to these, currently he drinks Nambarrie and sometimes Punjana, so no saving for me. I'll keep quiet in case he suggests a cheaper coffee alternative. He was astonished though that a box of 80 cost only 28p and was drinkable, so that's a plus, especially from him!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they mentioned these on that program the other day with Martin on it, they did weekly shop at Sainsburys and did a budget shop and they mentioned cheap tea.

I only drink tea - can't stand coffee. I tend to be a bit of a tea 'tart' I change brands depending on which 160 pack is cheaper/on offer. I don't usually shop at Sainsburys but I might pick up a box of their value teabags next time I'm in there and give them a try if they are only 28p.0

I bought them when I had a desperate week. They are ok but a bit tasteless for me. I like the sainsburys brown label ones.
However they tasted a lot better than Aldi's cheap t bags which I threw away.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I've bought some from Farmfoods, will check branding but it was 440 teabags for £2.50 in a bag rather than a box DH says they are lovely he even bought some for his work & had no complaints so far.2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

I usually buy the Asda Smartprice ones. They didnt taste so nice at first but now if I drink a cup of that then a cup of tetley theres only a slight difference. I even gave my dad a cup of it the other day and he didnt notice and he and my Mum are Tetley fans!Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

I can't believe no one's mentioned they're Fairtrade yet!
My girlfriend only drinks Fairtrade Tea, and I told her that the Sainsbury's Basics tea was FT, and persuaded her to try it (we usually shop in Tesco, so it's the only way she would downshift it). I don't know what tea she normally drinks, but she said it was the best cuppa she's had in a while. She's only had it once so far, so fingers crossed she doesn't change her mind.0
