This isn't really a discount code as such so apologies if this is in the wrong place but I do think it's worth adding to the site as so many people aren't aware of this and it could potentially save people a lot of money.
Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, people who use a computer (vdu) as a habitual part of their job are entitled to an eye and eyesight test administered by a qualified professional and paid for by their employer. Employees who use VDUs are entitled to an eye test when they begin using VDUs and at regular intervals throughout their employment. Also, if you experience eye problems which may be a result of using VDUs then you will be entitled to a free eye test. If you then need to wear glasses your employer must contribute to the cost of glasses. It's important that the optition ticks the little box on the glasses form to say they are needed for VDU use otherwise employers don't have to contribute to the glasses.
Most employers don't advertise this and in my experience a few employers have actually said they don't have to provide it however, they do regardless of whether you are employed perminantly or as a temp and regardless of the size of the company.
The best way to get this entitlement is to talk to your HR department, don't be put off if they say no first time, keep pestering and ask them to look at the above act.
I hope that helps!

Trying hard to remember... "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery." David Coperfield

Did you not know this? I thought it was law for all companies to inform their staff- at the last two (fashion retail) based jobs I had, I was constantly sent reminders to get an eye test, renew an eye test, do I want a voucher off glasses after I have had my free eye test... If your not reminded, I would be very angry with the lack of care and HRs not doing thier job right! If they say no I would complain to ofcom or whoever is above thier heads!0
