Would like a DVD player, fairly easy to use, not horrible quality. HDMI would be nice, but non-essential.
I've seen this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-DVP3120-05-DVD-Player/dp/tech-data/B000NUUH32/ref=de_a_smtd Or are there better options around?

That Philips one is very good for the money. Easy to use, nice picture quality. I'm pretty sure you can unlock all the budget Philips models for multiregion use too (Google for "multiregion hack" if you want to do that), as I've done with a previous model. I bought one of these for my girlfriend and she's chuffed with it (haven't needed to unlock for multiregion yet though).
I bought it in Tesco for about £28 and I've since seen it in Asda for £27ish.0 -
I have several Philips dvd players I would pay a bit more and get the 5980 or 5990, both excellent players I have 3 of them0
