I'd go for wither the microwave or the oven. Normally I use the microwave because it's quicker and cheaper. Either way you need to ensure that it is piping hot throughout, ie over 72°CHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Yes, I agree with squeaky. The SC just doesn't get hot enough to heat things up from cold to the right temperature to be safe, and the oven will do the job properly, but unless you are also cooking something else it will be much cheaper to use the microwave.0

How about putting it in a saucepan over the hob? You can get it nice and hot this way as well.0

Yes if you make them small (six from a 2oz suet, 4oz flour) mix, they just need three to three and a half minutes.
Alternatively fours from that size mix will do in twenty minutes in a pan of simmering water,Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I just sit them in the lid of a pyrex casserole dish and nuke them for the 3 - 3 1/2 minutes or so.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. You're welcome. Next time you make your stew in the slow cooker you can add the dumplings about an hour before serving up time. Any extras needed can be done as aboveHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
