i do that for the things i wouldn't necessarily recognise immediately , like cumin and ground coriander, they look a lot alike and some of the weird middle eastern spice mixes i getfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Thought i'd show you my kitchen storage are with all my various jars and tins... we didn't have enough kitchen cupboards to store dishes AND food so this resolved the issue plus it allows me to have all my gadgets (that i USE) out as i can only fit a few on the countertops
notice the 4 tins at the top right and glass jars all along
you can't see the bottom shelf but it's full of glass jars etc as wellfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
Is that the infamous and legendary "Ivar" then HOLsale????
I've been wondering what it looked like!!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Love IVAR - have it in almost every room of the house..... but not the kitchen - STEN and a cheap bookcase.
I love my tupperware - and have bought it slowly over the years and am sad that they no longer sell in the UKUnless you live near an American base and find someone who sells on there which my sister did. But you can often find pieces or similar at boot sales and charity shop. I found it useful to work out what I was looking for and keep a note in my diary so I could remember when I was standing there.
I didn't like glass as it is just too heavy - plastic and stackable only!0 -

Tupperware is making a HUGE come back here, in fact they are currently desperate for agents to sell the stuff!!! I am moving to Leighton Buzzard next month and it so happens that the Tupperware HQ is located there - NICE. I have already enquired about work, you should give it a go. They have a new catalouge launching next month and now sell REALLY up to date stuff.
Take a look at this site http://www.tupperware.co.uk/ you can email them and they get a local distributor to call or email you and will send you the latest catalouge.

it most certainly is! we've got in in every room of the house and in 2 of our 3 cupboards (can't get any extra shelving in the linen cupboard, it's already built in :rotfl: )
infinitely changeable according to need, cheap to buy especially after you get your initial setup ... and it's from sustainable forests, what more can you ask for eh? :Tfounder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

great minds eh?
i actually have stuff going in all 5 trays of the dehydrator after a long hiatus from using it... i found a new green grocer today that does bargin bags of not quite perfect fruit and veg. i got 3 yellow peppers with only a few soft areas for 29p and a huge bag of not very red tomatoes for 19p and a large bag of broken carrot pieces for 19p so i'm drying all of those plus they had huge bags of apples (quite fresh ones) for 49p so i'm making some apple rings and i'm also drying a bit of kale and some coriander
i will use all the veg when it's dry by grinding it in my coffee grinder and adding that into one of my old garlic granules containers. i simply add in a touch of garlic granules and salt to the powdered veg and i have the best seasoning ever!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -
I use lock n lock. I collected it over the years and sometimes got really good deals. Ideal shopping had a very good offer a while ago and I got two big sets of look n lock type boxes. It wasn`t that cheap but it is absolutely airtight and all the sizes I have got stack very neatly, so no space is wasted0
