Vanquis also bombard you with a lot of horrid "credit card cheques" on a regular basis.

They upped my interest rate twice in the 18 months I was with them and it was a hike.... and I was meeting my monthly payments, not a problem customer. Their rate for cash withdrawals is horrendous.

With all due respect to the posters on here who got into difficulty through failed businesses or circumstances out of their control there are a number of us who have watched their spending and credit spiral out of control because it is so difficult to resist temptation when you are feeling low or because it doesn't feel like real money. I know, because I am one of them.
It is very easy to say not a problem, pay it off each month but when reality bites, especially when living on a budget, this is not always easy.
Anyone taking out a Vanquis card should take great care and not be unduly flattered by the fact that their application is successful.
Debts can creep up on people, resolutions to pay off in full monthly can sometimes be like New Year Resolutions.... short lived.

    IMHO
