Hi

I was a debt free wannabe in 2007 under a different name.
I had my internet cut off, and couldn't get on here. (Now I can't remember any of my old details).

Anyway to cut a long-story short, I want to thank everyone who was around at that point in time for their help and support, as despite not having the internet I continued with my dfw regime and have succeeded in the most part.

I had nearly 10k of debt hanging around my shoulders at that point. (A drop in the ocean to some I know, but to a 21 year old single mum on benefits 10k was a hell of a lot.)

Now, less than two years on I have around 1k left to pay off. (Although I do have my partner to thank for that, he has paid a fair bit off in the last few months for me.)

So thanks everyone. You all helped me no end. :)

Beth

That's great news - it's nice to hear updates. It helps you see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Do you have an expected debt free date?

What would be your tips to the rest of us who still have a fair way to go?

Well done on your achievement so far!

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I don't actually have a debt-free date atm. I'm hoping it'll be sometime around May 2010.

I've had a tricky couple of months (due to moving) so payments are at a minimum.

I'm not too great at giving advice (better at taking it) but I would like to say that it's possible to be debt free, no matter what your circumstances, just take each day as it comes, and concentrate on what you want to achieve.

I'm still getting there, and I couldn't have got this far without my partner. He's been fantastic. (He has no debt himself, so he's been throwing all the spare money at mine. Which I appreciate no end. But now the spare money seems to have run out :( )

We will get me debt free though. It'll come. :)

Thanks Beth - I've been working at it. Need to take it to the next level soon. I really want to be debt free by Christmas.

Good luck with the last push.
