Has anyone bought investment property/ies in Berlin, Germany?

Just wondered what people here thought about buying property in Berlin, Germany for investment purposes, to rent out?

I looked on Rightmove and there are loads of Berlin properties, including many blocks of flats being offered for very cheap and on many of the ads it says that you can get a very lucrative % yield and that it is one of the few places in the world that has a good stream of people looking to rent, good quality properties etc?

Seeing as I am not getting much interest on my savings would it be worth doing something like this i.e. investing in a rental property in Berlin? Has anyone done it and if so what are the pros and cons. I am sure there is a lot of bureaucracy and hidden taxes and I would like to get a clear view of whether it would be worth it and whether it is as good a market as it is made out to be? I know Berlin is lovely and some of the architecture of the old blocks are beautiful (not the Communist ones) I have been there a few times but some areas are much nicer than others.

If anyone has done this successfully, I would be very happy to hear your views and experiences.
