Local Papers - What does this mean?

Hi all.

Me and OHs BR appeared in the local paper yesterday along with several others. There was also someone there that went BR in 2007 but the notice appeared as 'I intend to pay within 4 months xx/£ etc etc. What does this mean, will everyone appear for a second time in years to come?

Cheers!

    Hi there,

This is someone (or a business) that had assets and the amount is what the creditors will receive - the % of the debt. It doesn't apply if you don't have assets when you go BR.

Cheers for that guys and gals! It's funny I was so worried a while back about appearing in the paper but prior to it going in I've confided in people at work and they didn't flinch one bit. Some said their brother, sister, partner went BR. One has even said their B/F is going BR and now I'm going to be helping them fill forms, it's bizarre. I've checked gazetter and we on there and insolvency website. I'm just waiting for IVA to disappear now, I might even report an error and see if it speeds things up.
  • I was in local paper this week, also noticed that the person who lives in the house that I lived in previously has also gone bankrupt! Maybe I jinxed the place lol

Fortunately my local paper doesn't print the BR notices except for LTD companies.
