Which catalogue is best to work for?

I apologise if this has been asked hundreds of times before, but I'm looking to supplement my income by running a catalogue business; I ran the school book club and loved it so thought this might be an idea. I havn't really got the time in the evenings to run parties but I thought a cataloue venture might be better. Which ones have you had experiance with and which seem to be worthwhile doing? I live in a large housing area and the exercise walking around the houses will do me good!! Ideally I'd like a smalle outlay financially wise too.
I was thinking about other ways to boost my income and the things I love are making cards etc (but theres so many people doing that theres not enough demand), or planning holidays - has anyone started up their own travel planning business alongside their day to day job (I'm a teacher so it has to be legit!!).
Thanks for any advice!

For Betterware, they provide the catalogues so no costs there and give you a set territory - but I have no idea how much commission or what size of area you would be expected to do - perhaps someone on here might do Betterware and be able to help.
Me & my OH tried Kleeneze earlier in the year - it didn't work for us, selling the books online to get some of the outlay back - but that is due to where we live. There are lots of distributors in the nearby area (although none bother to do our street which is why we decided to give it a go - and no we don't live on a rough street lol) so therefore although we got orders, it wasn't enough to break-even. You can do whatever streets you want with Kleeneze, so your earnings are unlimited (in theory at least lol)
The catalogues are only changed twice a year and for the cost of those you get the re-sealable bags. You have to pay for order forms, and if you want to order online then after the first month you have to pay £7.50 a month. Also, if you orders are below a certain amount (can't remember how much) there are delivery charges, so you have to balance waiting until you have enough orders to avoid charges with how long you are making your customers wait.........which was our problem. If there is no-one in your area doing Kleeeneze then it could be well worth giving it a go as they do give you bonuses for hitting targets, free books etc so it can work well if your area isn't already being covered and if you have enough time to spend doing it. Commission is about 20% or 21% from what I can remember.
Me & my OH started Avon at the same time as Kleeneze, and as you can see from my sig, we are still going strong! You are given a set area, the amount of houses does vary - I was given 180 to start with and then an additional 120 - but some people on here have only got 80 or so. Of course there is selling to family, friends, work colleagues, getting those people to show it to their friends....... You do have to pay for your books & buy your own plastic bags, the books change every 3 weeks - but you can "back-order" from the previous catalogue so therefore you can use the books twice. I have one territory on the "new" books and the other territory on the "old" books to get the best use of them. The order forms, delivery etc is all free. There is a £15 sign-up fee (£7.50 is taken from the first two campaigns) for which you get your first lots of books provided to you. You have to reach £78 (varies in different areas I think) of sales to get commission of 20% and over £148 (again I think it varies upon area) to get 25%.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do, I know a lot of people will say that if you fail it's because you didn't put the effort in - but this isn't necessarily true, as we found with Kleeneze, we definately put the effort in but unfortunately that's the way things are sometimes. Don't let it put you off though - each company has it's own pro's and con's, and each will suit a different person!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hello!
Have you thought about selling Usborne Books? There are so many ways you can sell the books including to schools, so being a teacher is a massive head start! It's a great way to supplement your income, or make a full time business from it.
The start up cost is quite low. It's normally £38 for your starter kit (which is worth £100), but it's a cheaper kit this month. Next week the kit will be £15, the week after it will be £20.
I've been doing it quite successfully for 3.5 years and really do love it as the books are so fab. They sell themselves.
Let me know if you would like any more information.
Kind regards

Hi Rhiannond87 - My wife and I run a Kleeneze business and we earn over £1000 every 4 weeks from it. £300-£400 from Cataloguing and £600-£700 from Team Support. With Kleeneze, you do not have territory restrictions and we find this allows us to have an uncapped income as we can deliver and collect as many catalogues as we like and in what ever area we like. Also with Kleeneze, the products are aimed at a wider market compared to Avon, who have a niche market for cosmetics and beauty products. PM me if you want more info.0

Hi there,
You can still do partyplan without actually holding the parties. Alot of people do book parties. You hand people the books and let them order or even let them collect orders to get some free items.
I am with Partylite - there are no outlays.
Pm if you would like more info0 -
:j i'd say go for AVON you weill really enjoy it , i love lookin though the new glossy brochures every 3 weeks and the products are really good and when your a rep you can get stuff like bubble bath / creams ect really cheap as u get a rep magazine called 'hello tomorrow' every 3 weeks with a load of cheap products in plus there's letters and tips in there t's a good read and i love getting my copy.
plus you get a rep website with selling tips and news if you sell over a amount you join pc club where you can win prizes and hoildays plus there's a star points book where you can save points up to buy thinks like tvs/dvds ect and you get to go to a special pc dinna which is held local in every area free food and drink and the chance to meet other reps there's also a pc lunch where you meet the president of avon it's a really good night.
plus if you make pc club thre's a forum where u can chat to other reps which is busy day and night
You could sell to friends and family most people i know aready use handwashes soapos talc ect so why not swap to avon? where the products are sometimes cheaper than the shops:T
to make more money you could try delivering brochures to a 'territory' every rep gets their own area so there's no risk of anyone else comeing and stealing your customers like kleenezee.
As you can tell i really enjoy avon

i don't do catalogues but from what i have read, you should go with what holds most interest for you. if you are into your beauty products etc, you should go with avon. if you like books and have young children, stick with books. and so on. good luck whatever you decide.Proud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0
