FULL and finals......
Hi out there
Has anyone had any luck with any full and final settlements recently? - maybe we could keep some kind of unofficial data base of what percentage certain banks ,credit card companys and finance companys are dealing at
I tried Barclays last week with 35% of a 3700 debt and they have informed me today its to low but are willing to look at an increased offer
- my move!

Hi Angstdata
I agree. I've suggested from time to time that this could be a sticky .
There is one on the credit cards board for unofficial balance transfer deals.
I don't see why we couldn't do something similar on the dfw board for F&F deals.
Some time back there was a useful thread (think the op was Weggy) where a lot of people posted their experiences but that has sunk without trace. Since then there have been loads of short threads about these deals and it's very hard to pick up just who is accepting what.
But your Barclays experience illustrates how unpredictable this all is - I wrote with a 22% F&F for a client on a debt only recently defaulted. Barclays gave a straight 'accept'!0 -

On a busy board with limited space like DFW, you have to keep the number of stickies to a minimum.
If the board divides up a bit, as may happen, then perhaps a few more things like that can be done.

and another one has phoned this morning ( Marks and Spencer ) who say they will accept 2000 for a 2450 debt - or 80% as the nice lady said
Hi Fatbelly - you say you put an offer from a client which was accepted - are you with an agency of some sorts may I enquire ?
I am with the paying thru the CCCS at the present - do you believe than any F and F would be better received thru them ??

Not sure how CCCS would view F&Fs. I'm starting to think I'm a bit more flexible than other advisers. You'd have to ask them.0 -

Hi,
I am in a position where I should be able to pay off my ridiculously high interest loan with Welcome finanace. I originally got a loan of £3800 and have paid on time each month since September last year, I recevied a settlement figure today for £4220...I am shocked to say the least that I've not touched the capital with the £1300 I've paid them.
Would Welcome accept a lower settlement figure even though I haven't defaulted?
I am under the impression that they are not doing so well at the moment.
Would I be best phoning/writing letter/visiting brach with my proposition.
I am happy to pay £3700.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.0
