argos connect and collect

I ordered a diswasher online form argos with the connect and collect service. I contacted argos by phone to ask what I had to provide for them to connect and was told I needed a power source, water inlet and oulet point.

All this was in place when they delivered today but they never connected the dishwasher because my power source was a spur and not a socket, my wife was told by the delivery team that a refund would be given for the failed connection

About 15 minutes after the delivery I got a call from the logistics company who had done the delivery and was told by them that a refund would be given by Argos and all I had to do was contact them.

I then called Argos and was told that they would confirm with the delivery people that the dishwasher was not connected and I would be contacted about my refund after they got confirmation.

Argos telephoned me tonight and told me that I would not be getting a refund as they did not refund failed connections. I the told them to come and take the diswasher back and refund all my money to which they refused stating that it was excluded from the 28 day money back guarantee, she they refused to give me it in writing and told me she was arguing with me about it and no refund was being given and then hung up.

Could anybody tell me what my rights are, I am in Scotland and paid with my credit card.

I should also metion that I connected the dishwasher after I was told initally told I would get a refund.

TIA
BB

I would contact head office to explain the situation. At best they should refund the cost of connection. Unfortunately, they won't take back the dishwasher because they are exempt for the 30 day MBG and especially as you have now connected it yourselves, but I would push for a refund of the connection. You paid for a service that you didn't receive.

I have sent them an email and have had a reply saying its been passed to the relevant department who will be in touch.

:j Got a call from Argos today and they are going to refund £37.00 which is the amount they charge for connection.
