Scottish success story

Midlothian district council
previous band E
reduced to D
backdated to 1/4/1993
rebate £4561

We first appealed in 1993 since we were banded along with large and expensive houses further up the street. This house was originally a tied house to employment by the local authority. The original appeal was rejected out of hand as was the subsequent appeal. We then appealed again after being recommended Martin Lewis' site. With the aid of tables available on the site we were able to prove that by the Councils own guidelines the house had been overvalued.Furthermore we were able to show that a comparable property at the other end of the street was banded below ours.It took 6 months of constant phoning and badgering but we have been successful and a full refund backdated to 1993 has been awarded. Thanks to Money saving expert .com.!!:j
