Actual house prices

Hiya guys,

When searching for mortgages how can we be sure we type in the correct value for the house prices? How can we actually know the price of our house, is there a table we can consult? I'm not talking about asking prices here but actual values that banks consider when setting a loan to value of the house.

Cheers

Get an agreement in pricipal based on your wages and outgoings. It does not mean they will lend you that much but i will give you a close estimation.

Don't do an online one it as to take in to account outgoings to be anywere near acurate.

The other way is putting an offer ina and getting a mortgage based on that offer.

If you mean, that say you bought a house in 1999, what would it be worth now, type of thing. Go to the Nationwide website where it will work out values based on sale price previously.:money:
  • Mouseprice is very good. You can put in details such as improvements made during ownership etc and get a valuation based on the same criteria as a surveyor's report. We changed our mortgage in October and there was only 3k difference between the Mouseprice valuation and surveyor's valuation. Not bad considering our house is worth around 400k. Mouseprice valuation £411k, surveyors valuation £417k.

    Give it a go.

    Sorry got you remortgage.

You put in what you want to remortgage at.

It will make no difference to their valuation of your property.

Log onto Upmystreet . You can obtain historical data on local prices on the site. Though it takes time for information to feed through from Land Registry.

House prices are easy to work out move/add the decimal point to the left one digit and you will be about right*
