Saterlite Direct/ Satcov stealing money by Direct debit how can I get my money back

About a year ago I took out a extended warrenty for my sky equiptment with a company called Satcov Ltd. ( now known as saterlite Direct). At the time when took out cover I was made to belive that they were actually from and part of sky. they have taken money from my account each month and I have had no problems until now. I have even called them out once and they came promptly and fixed the problem and replaced my sky box. But yesterday when I checked my bank account I found they had changed the direct debit from £6.50 to £65 per month with out my permition. They sent me no letter or nothing about this. I would have never agreed to this. I tried to phone them and they just kept putting me on hold then hung up. On furth research on internet I have found out that they are not part of sky and that sky have actually taken them to court. I phoned my bank which is natwest and explained the situation to them and that I had not given permition or autherisation for this company to take this amount of money. they said there was nothing they could do all they could do was cancel direct debit. I phoned Satcov Ltd. ( now known as saterlite Direct) and finally got through to some one. The person I spoke to was very rude. They agreed to refund my money back but said it would be at least 28 days before I would get my money back and would probably be about 2 month before I get my money. I told them I was not happy about this and that I also wanted to cancel my sky cover with them. They refused to cancel it and said it could only be canceled if I put it in writting and send in post then they hung up on me. I tried to phone back but now they won't answer phone.

Should I have to waite this long to get money back, that they had no right to take. Also do you think I will actually get my money back. are the bank correct is there nothing they can do there end. i thought it would be covered under direct debit garantee and that bank would be able to get money back. After all this is fraud in a way. What should I do. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also I want to cancel the direct debit as I don't want them taking any more money but this company Satcov Ltd. ( now known as saterlite Direct) have told me if I cancel the direct debit they will not be able to refund my money. Is this true should I cancel direct debit or wait. abit and see if they refund my money.

Any advice would be much apreciated

thanks in advance

Ask the bank to raise a claim for you under the direct debit gurantee and money normally back within 2/3 days.

I agree with willo - this has come up a number of times recently. I think what they are doing is charging £65 for the year not month but have not got anyone's authority to do so.
So do a direct debit guarantee clawback.

I waited 28 days but no money appeared. Instead they tried to take more money I cancelled direct debit and have written letter after letter to saterlite direct complaining but have had no response. I have contacted natwest several more times and they still say there is nothing they can do. It is now 2 months and I still haven't got my money back. Can any one sugest what I should do. The only Thing I can think of is to take them to small claims court. Also when they took the £65 out of my account without permition they caused me to go in to over draft and I incurred a £38 bank charge. Can I demand that they pay me back for this as well as I incurred it due to them

    thanks
