I was looking for something to play all the films and programs I have on my pc and purchased one of these recently and I must say it's excellent. Don't forget you need an external USB storage device to go with it. I bought a Western Digital My Passport so it matches. It's very stylish and has played everything I've chucked at it even .mkv. Also you need to install the firmware update which you can get from the official website.

Just bought one from Play, pleased with it athough it won't play my .avi files created by downloading from my mini DV camcorder without conversion first (all depends on the codecs used). Don't use the supplied software to do that though, its pants - plenty of other (free) options out there.

Mine came shipped with the latest firmware ! :j
