MBN wrote:P.S.: Sorry I can't give you more details about these panels, but I'm in a terrible rush to finish a chapter of my research thesis, which has to be submitted tomorrow. I'm sure someone else (Dormouse, perhaps?:A)will give you a wealth of information shortly.:)
For the What I Buy survey, you have to record all the items (only from certain categories) that you buy every month. You get paid a whopping £1 in High Street vouchers per survey , and get entered in prize draws. Personally, I've been doing this for a couple of years, and when you get the hang of it, it doesn't take too long. However, I've recently got a bit fed up with this one.
The What I Say and Do is a strange one. The website never works fully for me, and I'm not very impressed with this one.
The television survey that they do is easy, and you get entered into draws (there's a 1 in 7 chance of winning, or something like that). I've been doing it for a couple of months and have already had a £5 Amazon voucher.Unfortunately, I've just had a look on their site and it doesn't look like they're recruiting new panel members at the moment.
HTH a little. To sum up, I'm not too impressed with these, and only really bother with the TV survey. WIll have a look at surveys.com though, as I'm not registered with them.
PS. Good luck with the thesis, MBN. Oh I remember the days... :rotfl:

Hmm. I do all the above. But for the What I Buy surveys, there are no £1 rewards for me!!! How can they run a dual system? For my What I Buy surveys, you just get another "entry" into the monthly prize draw.
What I don't like is that they never make it clear whether this "monthly prize draw" is one giant one for all their survey categories, or whether there is a different one for TV, WIB, WISAD, etc.
I agree with Dormouse that sometimes the sites don't work well (apart from the TV one which is straightforward), and frankly they get on my, erm, pips, every month. (But thank goodness that's all I have to contend with monthly ...)
Surveys.com was until recently the site of NOP (National Opinion Polls). GfK bought them out. I don't get many surveys to do for them, and I'm not convinced that I get iPoints for all the surveys I've done. I've written to complain before now, but as I hadn't kept accurate records at the time, I couldn't really argue with the unsatisfactory reply. I've remedied my record-keeping now.Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
I used to do the Gfk television surveys, did them for months and months without winning anything. It took far too much time just for the chance of a "prize draw". Ironically I won a £5 voucher AFTER I stopped doing them.
Now I just stick to the ones that pay, even if it's a small payment, then at least you're getting something for your time.
Most of them are already on here: GTM, quickwise, Ciao, ipoints, surveys.com, pure profile, opinionate etc etcThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Wise words. I also email back the ones that send surveys offering only a "prize draw" telling them to grow up and offer genuine rewards for peoples' time.
Perhaps if the whole MSE community did that en masse we would all get proper rewards for time spent.0 -

I also used to do the GFK daily TV surveys and won a £5 voucher after I stropped doing them, deciding it was a waste of my time. Coincidence?? Maybe not ... more of an incentive to continue with the surveys I think!Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

What an excellent idea; I never do prize draw surveys either, so I'll definitely be emailing in future to say why :T0 -

I do this survey every day as well and have received a £5 voucher both May, June and July. I must have been very lucky then.....0 -

(I thought it's to do with having changed my address recently, etc, but obviously they've changed the system since going online. These cheeky people really do want something for nothing! )
So yes, I'm definitely going to quit them now. :cool:0 -

Besides, I quite like the idea of the TV survey, and the fact that my opinion might actually have an effect on what they're showing on TV. (Like the other day when they asked whether the new Robin Hood drama should be on at the same time as the X Factor, and I said NO!!! :rotfl: )0
