Just watched Martin [DDS] on ITV and......................I was well impressed at the change in his presentation style. I enjoyed this programme. Nicely done., Hope it converts some of the 'food snobs'. Slightly unnerving to hear that guy talking about the loss-lead technique.0

I enjoyed the show. I have noticed threads about it posted on various boards. I noticed a bit of antipathy towards the shows subjects. I could relate to them because until I found this site, I never bought any value/basics products. I did the downshift and now have as staples the things we were happy with. I never buy any meat but I have found the fruit and veg to be fine although I now buy all my fruit, veg and meat locally.
I think the recent price increases in basics/value ranges that I have noticed bears out what the guy said about loss leaders.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500
June £511.99/£480 July £311.56/£4800
