  • Nothing spent today…hooray…how wonderful… :p was working from home and too busy earning a crust for most of the day. However, late this afternoon whilst drinking a really, really nice mug of tea I planted the first early seeds of the year…joy of joys… I just couldn’t wait any longer… how wondrous and everything… :) planted a few cabbages, sprouts, onions, jalapeno peppers, tomatoes and one of my favourite perennial flowers – Rudbekia (Fulgida var. speciosa). The small pots will live on the kitchen windowsill for a few weeks – they will like that…lol. :D

  • well i made my decision, and my current job came in with a really good offer so have decided to stay put, and decline the other job. It wasn't about the money, it was about moving forward in my career, and I feel so much happier that I don't have to leave Law Related education behind and move into just generic education management. :)

So I didn't spend anything else to day apart from Starbucks earlier, so not too bad! Thanks for all your support guys! Now my flat and job and boyfriend are sorted, I can concentrate on money saving!!

Managed a no spend day yesterday - but also didn't get the day's work I had hoped, as the weather was too bad ( I garden).

Today just £9 in Sainsbury's (part of weekly shop, but didn't have time to do the full shop), and £7.50 on petrol.

Can I just say how helpful I am finding this? I am not in debt (more by luck than anything else!) but I do feel I don't get the best out of the money I have, partly because it vanishes in dribs and drabs which add up to quite a lot. Keeping a spending diary is really helping, and for two weeks, I have actually had change in my purse on Friday, rather than nothing and a load of IOU's to the children's moneyboxes!

I spent the day in town today after taking the car in for MOT - couldn't decide whether to make the decision that they wouldn't ring me all day and go home till later - or wait in case.

Unfortunately being in town invariably means shedding money though it was mostly considered. (Plus I sometimes worry that I'm horribly controlled so good to occasionally have an impulse buy!)

    Hmm:
£2 in Thorntons (all Continental selection bags are down from £2.75... apologies for mentioning ch**ol*te)
£3.49 in HMV on a single I can't get easily online cheaper
£18.00 in Debenhams on two really nice jumpers (spent quite a long time shopping round for this, so great sale buy in the end)
    £21.58 paying off Debenhams card
£2.98 in Julian Graves on sugar-free sweets for Aunt who can't get out to the shops herself
£6.18 in Starbucks (3 hours chair rental ;) - brownies are 'orrible though)
285 points and £5 skincare voucher in Boots on drinks, lipglosses, a 'getting your baby to sleep' book for my sister and some suncream
£3.10 in Tesco (so my darling OH can have a packed lunch tomorrow :A)
    £1.40 single bus fare home

Tomorrow might be a no-spend as I can't have the car back till Friday (at a cost of at least two limbs :()

  • Nothing today! :j 'ave it!
  • Spent £10.31 in Sainsburys and £5 in Marks and Spencers, on food.. Since I've realised that my Saisburys Local reduces a lot of their food items I've been going in at lunchtime... BUT.. think that i'm spending way too much now! I think that I'm getting a bargain but if i didn't go in there I probably wouldn't miss it.. Need to start avoiding it unless I really need stuff..

Went to Badminton this evening and was £5.25 for the court.. we take it in turns to pay week about...

Will need money for bus fare tomorrow but hope not to spend anything else..

£47 but I think it was a bargain.

Husband had a shower this morning and all the electricity went... no hot water, no heating, no coffee, no computer

We tried to isolate the problem, unplugged everything but nothing worked.

Eventually got an electrician to call this afternoon - what a gem.

He found the problem straight away (burnt out shower switch) went to get the part and fitted it. Two hours work.

What a relief!... we'd already boiled water on the log fire and made toast like cavemen :D
