Roll on tent cities in the UK for the dead beats who got mortgages under false pretenses and people who chose to breed excessive numbers of kids while expecting us to fund their wacky lifestyle.
  • You're still insisting that a house with running water and electricity and furniture and heating is little better than a tent pitched outside with sewage running down a ditch.

    You're a moron.

I read his point differently, I didn't think he was referring to the actual physical qualities of living in a house versus a tent but how we have large estates of the same social group lumped together. Both groups of people are in need of support and in the US they group together where they can put up tents and whilst we provide housing its never widespread and integrated, it too is grouped together..any reason for this?

I know your post is tongue in cheek and it's tempting to think that when they are in California, Florida or New Orleans, but there's also a big tent city Seattle, which has a similar climate to ours. I've also seen the homeless sleep outside in Boston in January. I've never seen a group of people so glad for the library to open at 9am so they could go in and use the toilets and warm up.
