Selling on Ebay and Bankruptcy

Hello
This may be a silly question, I have been selling off my personal items just to keep my accommodation - I am self employed but contracts have dried up to the point that I have gone from £32K four years ago to £7.5K in this year, I have ended up using the money from my divorce as daily living expenses.
I can't claim any benefits because I am on my own and I need something to live on - I am wondering how the OR will view this?
Will the OR allow me to continue selling off my items (clothing and personal belongings) or will they immediately take that as "excess" basically leaving me with nothing until I get a contract.
What will happen with Paypal?
I don't know exactly what I am asking but at the moment it is the only source of income when I don't have a contract.
Thanks

Hi Affluenza
Ebay is Ok if you are selling off your own stuff...bit like an online car boot. If its a business & your earning from it then you need to mention it.
In terms of paypal I would make sure that there is no funds in there when you go BR but my understanding is that its not UK based & is not a bank account either. Make sure the paypal card is pre pay & not the credit card version.
If you do trade on Ebay than that is OK as you are allowed to trade as a sole trader even when bankrupt.
Hope that helps.

Ps...may be worth getting a SOA done on your previous thread & see what other ideas the guys can help with. In fact I will go & bump it up as I dont think all your questions were answered.0 -
Hi,
If youve only earned 7.5k in a year then you will probably be entitled to working tax credits, housing benefit and council tax benefit. Have you claimed them ?

I agree with debt doctor, you should get something.

Hi, just so you're aware - I had money in my paypal account when I went bankrupt and they froze the account. The OR confirmed to paypal that he had no interest in the money but they refuse to unlock it for 180 days. 3 months down, 3 months to go
Just empty it..............

Thanks for advising - problem is that if I am using that to sell off things to pay for daily living expenses and Ebay demand you use Paypal then that makes things difficult.0
