Not the end of the World - FT article

I think the biggest point that I fail to get across with some of my gloomier predictions is that salt isn't going to be ploughed into the earth - the infrastructure and physical wealth the UK has will remain. The schools, hospitals, roads, factories, offices and so on will all continue to exist and be as productive or unproductive as before.0

thanks, hun.
but the point of the article is that we need 7 years of frugality...not that they have or not been clever up until now, I think we are past that stage.
I was meaning, that there will be BTLers/FTBs etc who can't wait to bag a bargain - are you saying they will magnaminously forego opportunities to avoid re-inflating any bubbles, in the interest of person-kind?
For 7 years.......I just can't see it holding together.0 -

The fact is, there are as many who won't experience any frugality as those who will. One thing I am sure of: it'll be me being frugal, again.
Knew i should have married frugality when i had the chance.0 -

Hmm….seven years of frugality
seven emaciated cows.
That has some biblical overtone.
See Genesis chapter 41:15 to 41:20
41:15Pharaoh said to Joseph, 'I had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I heard that when you hear a dream, you can explain it.
'41:16Joseph answered Pharaoh, 'It is not by my own power. But God may provide an answer concerning Pharaoh's fortune.
'41:17Pharaoh related it to Joseph: 'In my dream, I was standing on the bank of the Nile.
41:18Suddenly, seven fat, handsome cows emerged from the Nile, and grazed in the marsh grass.
41:19Then, just as suddenly, seven other cows emerged after them, very badly formed and emaciated. I never saw such bad ones in all Egypt.
41:20The emaciated, bad cows proceeded to eat the first seven, healthy cows.Si Deus pro nobis quis contra nos?0 -

Perhaps you could become a frugality consultant and clean up.
When the lost decade was at its worst, a woman wrote a book on how to live on a very small amount of money - perhaps JPY100 a day for food. Something like that. You could do the same.0
