Hi, I've read many times on here and other places that if you apply for credit too many times in a short period then it can affect your chances in being approved. Afriend of mine is trying to get a loan for £7,500. He applied at Barclays and was turned down. There are many other places he wants to try, including…

if there are missed payments from 2001 he may have to wait another year because adverse info takes 6 yrs to clear off the file. Also he should maintain up to date payments on his capital one card but leave plenty of credit available on card so he can build up recent credit history therefore lenders will see this.
Is he on the electoral role ?
