Hello there
I have a Canon I865 printer, I have been told that a Canon A70 Digital camera will work fine with it, but everywhere on the net is out of stock, so they must be discontinued. ???
As I am clueless about this sort of thing, can anyone recommend a good replacement, nice and cheap (ish) not too technical, just a decent quality Canon camera that is compatable with my printer.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
The Canon i865 is 'Pictbridge' enabled meaning that you can directly connect a compatible camera to the printer with a USB cable, no need for a computer to be able print photos, the camera can control the printer.
The Canon A70 is a Pictbridge enabled camera but so are many other newer cameras from Sony, Fuji etc.
I have a Canon A80 and Canon i865 but have never needed to use the Pictbridge facility--I can't see the point if you own a computer (for this size printer--i.e. it's too large to be considered portable)0 -
So basically if I do a Google search and put in Pictbridge, I can buy any of those cameras and it will work directly with my printer, is that correct?
Does anyone know of any decent online stores I could get one?
Thanks, Lee.0 -

OK then the Fujifilm FinePix A330 is smack on £100, it is Pictbridge enabled and available at Asda of all places! You probably won't find it cheaper on-line, well I couldn't.
My father in law has an older model so I can vouch for the quality.
In the long-term you'll also need to get Ni-mh rechargeable batteries (ordinary batteries don't last that long in digital cameras) and a larger memory card (recommend 128mb). The camera is only supplied with a 16mb card--holds about 15 photos), I can supply affordable sources for both if you wish (these would cost an additional £20-30).0 -
Thanks mate

Really appreciate it.0
