Hi, ive sent them the letter in my previous post to them on the 18th of march, and it shows as being received and signed for on he 19th
today i have received a letter from Mercers saying48 hours notice
despite all of our previous communications you have ignored our demands for payments to your long overdue account
we will now pass your account to a debt collection firm in your area and a local representative may call at your address
phone now or you have 48 hours to stop further action
i have been making the reduced payments i can pay each month and responded to the letters they sent, sending them financial statements and payplans letter and the above regarding a doorstep collector, im just wondering what else i should do or should i just ignore this letter
thank you for your help0 -
anyone
i'll ring paypal tomorrow too and see what they advise

The letter you mention is all bluster from them, I have had the same thing about 4 months ago, nothing happened, its computer generated to scare you. They are exactly the same with me, refusing to accept anything less than 1% of the balance unless you go through CCCS, this apparently wheedles out the people who are blagging, some kindly scouse fella told me!!! Whatever!!
Anyway, I complained to FO, and have just today had my response to an appeal to say that they would accept my token payment of £1 for 6 months and suspend interest, but cynical me, thinks this is because they havent supplied my correct CCA in 7 months and I stopped paying about 3 months ago.......0 -
I was paying B/C and then Mercers via my CCCS dmp and they did send a doorstep collector. However, since the idiot's visit and me sending him on his way, they've accepted my dmp and that was June last last year. Not heard a peep from them since.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

thanks, so its just nonsense I can ignore then? do Mercers/Barclaycard usually pass the debt on to another external debt collector, I would have thought not because they would have to sell the debt on for a lesser amount?Deep_In_Debt wrote: »I was paying B/C and then Mercers via my CCCS dmp and they did send a doorstep collector. that's interesting to hear, so even with a debt management plan through CCCS they still arranged a doorstep collector to visit?
another thing, when you say paying Barclaycard then mercers, did you change who you paid, like different details etc.. because im dealing with mercers but stilling paying Barclaycard using the original paying details (sort code and account number and card number)

Well I ignored and am still hear to tell the tale! Although I think they sent someone round at one point, I just told him to bog off, but that was before the above letter! Idiots!
I carried on paying BCard the whole despite letters from many different companies, all the same one really, must think we are stupid! Although havent paid them since they went into default from my CCA request and my complaint to the FO!!0
