Out Of Bad Comes Good

HI, I'm new to this site. 3 years ago I found myself in debt after giving up work to have kids. To my deepest shame this was without the knowledge of my OH and I have never been so scared in all my life....I had never really been in debt before ( small amount of student debt many years ago) and was a complete and utter fool with money. :mad:
However, the good things that have come out of my battle, which hopefully will soon be over, was to go from a size 14 to 10 (food is expensive!), to stop my family eating junk, to appreciate receiving (and giving) presents, drinking less (booze is expensive!), more exercise (walking is FREE!), appreciating what I have instead of what I'm going to get next and finally feeling in control of my life. :j
So, does anyone else feel the same?

at our darkest time ,when we were in debt, the landline had been turned off for two weeks. we had just gotten the money together to pay the bill. I was on the phone (mobile PAYG) to BT paying it and was told it would be on shortly. Ten minutes later the landline rings, expecting it to be BT to let me know everything was ok it turned out to be my credit card company chasing payment!!!

Can laugh about all my money probs now they are in the past. You are right being in control is good.
