Abbey mortgage success..is this the key?

Finally after 8 weeks and a lot of messing around the abbey have underwritten my mortgage, the valuer is out today and hopefully offer later and move in tomorrow!

Those with abbey applications and waiting, get your solicitor to write a letter to the abbey explaining that it is urgent, i did this and my file was looked at the next day! Works a treat!

Moving is sooooooooooo stressful!

Glad you have got it sorted, its such a relief isnt it. We gave in with abbey after 5wks.

We finally got our Abbey mortgage offer through yesterday

******d valuers cause he couldnt be ars*d to go back to office on friday morning to sign the paperwork the offer cant be generated till monday so now i have to wait a few more days till monday! Some people just font give a flying **** ;-) oh well nearly there now!

Yes all sorted thanks, we shall be moving on the a week on friday are the following friday. It has taken for ever to sort mortgage out but now before we know it we shall be moving.

makes me worried reading this thread, applied to abbey for the 5 yr fixed mortgage they have out at the mo, because i bank with them it was apparently easier to check on my details etc.When i applied to chelsea it took about three weeks.
