Dont be Silly MonkeyGirl, thats why we are all here, to share what knowledge we do or dont have!

The world of Mystery Shopping spans a mass of areas. A lot of these companies also do Retail Audit Work, Stock Taking etc.

If you become a preferred Mystery Shopper, quite often they will invite you to start Audit jobs for them instead, which is unannounced Site Checks lasting about 2 hours, which frankly pay a lot lot better! Usually as well, Audit Work is specifically yours once you get it. So you dont have to fight for work on self assign systems knowing you are getting allocated Audit work instead!

It's now getting tedious being asked all over the Internet to fill in your questionnaire!

I am registred with Pulse, only had one job offered but couldn't do it as I was about to go on holiday. Another good earner is focus group as you don't get a wage, you get an incentive. Good luck

I am with 3 companies, but there are literally hundreds to join up with. Try Retail Maxim, Retail Eyes, NOP World. They are a good few.

I started Mystery Shopping a year ago, made £100 in a month, Now I have a turnover of over £1000 a month from Mystery Shopping alone. Not a bad second job at all! But my advice - If you dont keep working for different companies, this job had a finite life span because people do start to work you out after a few months. And boy, I have had some embarrassing exposes pulled on me by shop staff!

Also, if you really want to make this pay, you have to show dedication and build a rapport with these companies - If you find a niche, they will pay way over the odds to get jobs done if they know you are trustworthy and will go the extra mile. I do between 50 - 60 jobs a month at the moment.

Its hard work, But I am determined to be mortgage free in 12 months! I am lucky, I work an odd shift pattern in my main job, where I do 7 day fortnights. So i have 2 weeks a month to dedicate to this. But if you only want a few pennies. its amazing how many 'Lunchtime' jobs you can get done! Its not uncommon for me to do between 8 - 12 jobs in a busy day, and I have literally been all over Scotland now doing jobs - Islands, Borders, Highlands, Central Belt. 15 Hour days are not that uncommon when you get to that level of demand.

And you get plenty of freebies to sell on Ebay or meals which saves your food budget a bit too!

PM me if you want further info - Just stay off my shopping patch! lol

    Sorry MikeLB - £1000 a month???

I dont know ANY mystery shoppers that get that a year. Most mystery shopping work pays around £10 a job which can last 10 mins or a hour but it seems that the hardest thing is to actually get enough jobs to do.

Perhaps you would like to give a list of a typical months work and the rates you are getting paid?

This all sounds good to me. The only thing that worries me is the fact that tax and National Insurance is down to me to deal with right?? Oh god i dont know the first thing about that part...

Not all mystery sh0pping companies treat you as self employed. NOP for instance even pay you holiday pay.

I registered with NOP about a year ago and accepted the odd few assessments as and when I felt like it. Now though as I am trying desperately to get my finances in order I am accepting more and more. I am due to do 3 tomorrow, one in the morning which is online, one at lunchtime which is a 5 minute phonecall and one tomorrow afternoon in my own bank which I was due to visit tomorrow anyway. All of this for the grand sum of £17.00. I know it's not a lot but every little bit helps.
These are all with NOP and they seem pretty reasonable and i have never had a problem with not geting paid etc.
