the important thing is you realise its daft now and will work to stop using them.
there is no harm in offering them 50%, worse they can say is no! nothing to lose imo.
just explain that if they wont accept it you will have to pay by instalments and will take a lot longer to get their money0 -
This thread has annoyed me so much, I've had to register. First of all, the charges are not £30 for returned cheques Second of all, the cash till payday is a great service for people if they can stay in control. Its when people decide to get money out they cant afford and take out their full amount but again its always their choice to do so. I know for a fact that no one is ever pressured or sold at a higher rate, in fact it is strictly forbidden. People who register are made fully aware in advance of how much it is exactly going to cost and all their options, I have happily spent 20 minutes plus with a customer answering all of their questions. Thirdly, people always have the choice of choosing exactly how they would like to pay off their loan, they can choose to have all their cheques go to the bank or none at all, the customer who said below he had four cheques on the go, he could have easily just let one cheque go to the bank a month instead of all four at once or even let none of them go to the bank. What you have to consider is that with a business like this, there are a few customers that will get a loan out and never ever have the intentions of paying it back. I dont like us being lumped in with other companys that provide this service, I'm very proud of our company and honestly believe that we go above and beyond to help our customers. I know many of my customers on first name terms and I pride myself on that. I'm not speaking on any kind of official level, just my own experiences. To say that we "take advantage of peoples misfortune" and "take advantage" of customers is a horrible thing to say about people, I know all the hard work that goes in to provide the very best in customer service. I am confident that if you came into our shop you would probably get the best customer service to be honest than any other shop in the high street.
To be honest, I am 25 now and I have never ever had a job thats been as rewarding. I have met so many good customers in my 11 months I've been working there now and had a lot of fascinating experiences. I've been able to travel the UK to train in various things. Oh, and even if you find the act of cashing cheques abhorrent, at least have a look at our foreign exchange, I know for a fact it is always at least 1% above Marks And Spencers, and god knows how much above the Post Office and Travel AgentsI'm not proud of having worked there and I didnt stay there long before I got something nicer!!
. Please dont think this post is done on any kind of official level, it really isnt, its just I'm very proud of my company and the services that we provide(we do a lot more than cashing cheques you know), at least give us a chance before you knock us. 0 -
And your not biased in the least are you? They are nasty people who take advantage of people who are desperate.0

And to the OP - you could try to find a credit union in your area and see if they will help out....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

The best thing I ever did was join a credit union. Sure the interest on savings is not very good, but the benefit of getting a loan whenever you need it is great. You can't beat the 1% interest rate on repayments.0
