Who didn't send anything, just made a sales call, to you.
Sending it to University/College address is particularly pointless for distance learning students (most on mine are not even in this country!)0 -
Unis will love that, especially if they just use the general University address and not the address of the department.
There aren't the only new company starting up for that:

Thanks, have emailed both links to my grandson. :beer:0 -
They also have a http://www.memory4teachers.co.uk/
useful resources for teachers/lecturers. Also free.
Takes ages to come through.0 -

And how do you know? Don't tar all students with the same brush. I'm sick of people thinking all I do is do a few doodles and get drunk.0 -

Well actually I'm in need of a terabyte portable hard drive as I'm a digital design student (one file alone can be 16GB!). My 16GB memory stick is just for text files and or print work.0 -

Yes, maybe that's why the teachers haven't yet received theirs? I wouldn't be surprised if no-one gets anything till much later in the year.
The embedded software sound a lot like the U3 devices from Sandisk but with added 'educational' bits. I found the U3 software quite intrusive so I wiped mine not long after I got it. YMMV. There is an open source alternative called Portable Apps that you can install on any USB stick (of course you still need a memstick to install it on first).
If you can't wait for your freebie, you can get a 2GB memstick from as little as £3.99 at Play.com but I am sure you could find cheaper or more GB for your £ if you look around. (If you are on iPoints, you can get an 8GB Sandisk stick for 2200 iPoints. If you are not on iPoints, PM me for a referral )0 -
