I am on a DMP Lloyds CC have never accepted my plan so i have been paying interest every month .I wrote them a letter explaning by not freezing my interest they are making my situation worse also how ill its making me ,despite them not freezing interest i have been just paying them a set amount every month .This month i have got my CC statement as usual but it says estimated interest for next month 0.00 so i thought great they have finally accepted my plan and froze interest .I rang them (spoke to indian call centre ) they say they have def not accepted plan or froze interest:mad: .
I have asked why it says 0.00 for next month interest but they wont give me a straight answer they just say plan has not been accepted .
I wish i knew what was happening has anyone else had this with Lloyds i will feel a whole lot better if they had froze interest

I am on a payment plan with them. it's reviewed every 6 months or as they like to do stop it every 6 months and not inform you!!!
I had to phone up and was told I wasn't on a plan when I said I was she asked me for my payments and added me back on. She know the payments as she was looking at my accounts.
They tend to stop interest then add it again or at least it has been last year.0 -
Same with me, hate Lloyds with a passion. Almost 2 years into (banked with them for all my adult life, now in my 40's) my DMP, they are still adding interest on, do tend to take interest off when you call them but give you lots of bl%%dy excuses, till the next time...totally sick of them:mad: Have written so many letters asking for interest to be stopped totally, the last conversation of a few weeks ago I was told this would only happen when it's moved to their next 'higher' collections department, whatever that is. Told the guy (English call center) to do it, he said that he'll set the ball rolling and I should hear from this department. Well received two letters, one for my loan and O/D just stating the obvious that this will be 6 months and then they will review it, but note can ask for full amount at any time.
Good luck and keep posting.

Proud to be dealing with my debts

Hi,
I have just had had trouble getting Lloyds to accept a DMP for my cc. In the end I rung Lloyds collections and asked her outright to stop charging me intrest. She said she couldn't do that as my token payments were too high:cool:
So I was cheeky and asked her what payment she wanted to freeze the intrest and she lowered my token payment and frooze the interest there and then:rotfl: From yesterday, I pay no interest and have more money in my pocket.... well the getdebtfreeassoonas account really:Tmaiseymoo

MAISEYMOO- im abit confused by your post do you mean they asked you to increase your payment then they would freeze interest ?0 -
On the phone she did say if i increase my payments by another £20 per month she would stop intererst but i refused i dont want to agree on a payment that i would struggle to keep up so i stuck to my guns & and said no the payment that i have been making is all i can afford .I will just have to wait until next month and see if there is any interest been added

Hi Carlos,
No they didn't ask me to increase my payments. The lady in LLoyds collections said the token payments I had offered were too high for them to be able to stop adding interest!
So I asked her how much of a payment would she accept in order to stop the interest being paid and she came back with a figure of £50 on one (original offer £89) and £130 on the other (original offer £226.00) I have had the confirmation in writing today and it seems ok, but it will be reviewed in 6 months. When I told CAB they said they were suprised but to run with it and increase my offers to the other creditors to clear them faster. So thats what I am going to do, untill the September review date.
The best thing I did was to ring Lloyds collections, give them a heartrending 'I cant cope! It's all so stressful' intro to my case and then they sorted it :T
Just hope this lucky break lasts for a while, whilst I rebuild some self-esteem!!maiseymoo

Thanks Maisymoo for explaining that i didnt know you could offer to much
I am still really confused about my account i wrote them a letter saying how ill they were making me and how distressed i was at them keep adding to my debt this was last month .I still get my CC statement from them every month so this month i got my statement but it says estimated interest for next month £0.00 so to me it looks like they have now frozen my interest .
This is what is confusing me i rang them just to confirm that interest had been stopped & explained what it said on this months statement but on the phone they said it hadnt  She asked me could i increase my payments i said no so she said my account will now have to be passed on when i asked what she meant she just said it will be passed to a department upstairs ,she did say because it has now been passed to this other dept they may accept the lower payment .She said it would take a couple of weeks to pass to the other debt so ignore any letters i get in the meantime .
I would really like to hear from anyone who has a clue what passing accounts to other dept means .

Hi Maiseymoo again,
Right, this is what has been explained to me by Lloyds and CAB, so I am presuming it is right, but you never know with Lloyds
When you first offer lower payments you are still dealing with the cc people, but if you are passed onto another dept, (which apparently is upstairs) you deal with people in the Collections Dept. The people in the collections have more say over what to do with your account, ie, lower payments, freeze intrest, etc. You can ring Lloyds collections direct 0845 600 6283 and ask them to sort out your debts with them whilst you are the phone and send you confirmation via letter. The first time I rung the lady was horrable and I ended up putting the phone down in floods of tears, but the second time I rung, I explained it was all getting too much and I desperately needed help today and she was lovely and sorted it all out there and then. ( i have 3 debts with Lloyds)
Oh and CAB told me that if it went to collections and they sold my debt on, that usually is good news, because the new people accept the offers of payment and do not charge interest. Sorted :j
Hope this has been helpful, Keep in touch and good luck xmaiseymoo

I hate Lloyds with a passion. We have banked with them for a very long time, and have a sizeable O/D limit on our account.
Just now we are fighting with their travel Insurance (AXA) which was provided on our account, to get back £855 paid out for airfares on a trip we were unable to make due to my OH's condition.
I had a b***h of a woman ring me up two weeks ago wanting me to get a letter from my Dr confirming that OH was not on treatment for his condition when I booked the tickets (He was hospitalized for a month last Sept and we are still trying to find out whats going on!!!) She also wanted confirmation that we had not taken the flights, nor had we recieved a refund despite it saying on the cancellation letter that the tickets were non refundable. They wanted me to phone the USA and request the info.......I lost the plot and told her if she wanted the info to do it herself!!!!! After all thats what she gets paid for. I asked her if she was looking for a get out to turn down the claim???......she did not answer me!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in the process of changing my account....they closed our local branch and forced us to go to a branch where it is impossible to park, or to get to by public transport............due to an impending move I have had to go slightly into the O/D but have left my pension in the account to run throguh and clear it by Christmas. after that I am closing the account.....glad to be rid of a Bank who take OUR money from the government and then send their executives and business customers on an expensive jolly to Austria. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
