Harrasment from DCA: Alliied International Credit (AIC)

I totally agree Merlin!
I deal with one DCA who by all accounts have been totally above board, understanding, compassionate and actually believe it or not... human! When my mother in law passed away, yes they gave jip about missing a payment by a day but they soon understood and sent our family flowers! The baillif who collects on behalf of this DCA is human too (yes I scratched him to make sure he bled red blood and didn't have scales) and has been nothing but accomodating since we first met... he meets on my terms, in my choice of venue and and has been known on occasions to even say thank you! They've been a real pleasure dealing with them and I'm sad to make my last payment to them at the end of the month! If only all DCA's and Baillifs were like Newlyn!0 -
I take your point, but when a payment is missed it could change.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Perhaps!
I have had a bit of jip off them like I said but they did do everything possible to look into it! They eventually found the payment I'd made and rang up to apologise for their mistake! Seriously, I even I was shocked!
As I say, it's my last payment to them at the end of the month and I'm hoping Mr. Bailliff will keep his promise of a bunch of pink roses if I paid the whole amount off by the end of April!
As for Allied, well, they aren't registered anywhere apart from with BSI! I've searched and searched!0 -
Hi all, hope I've posted this in correct place.
I've had a phone call this afternoon from a company called AIC. It was automated message asking me to ring a number and quote a reference number. I googled the number to find out who they are (AIC) but I cannot for the life of me think who I owe money to.
The only debt I have is my credit card on direct debit repayment. Rang them just to check all is in order there, it is. I also owed BT money which is being payed back through DD also.
The only thing I could think of is Churchill Insurance who I just cancelled because I changed my car and got cheaper insurance with Saga. They were not too happy with me and demanded £60 cancellation fee which I said I would pay when they sent me proof of no claims. They have not so I have not payed them. Could they sell on this "debt" for the sake of £60? Bit worried about it.
Hope this makes sense, thanks all.0 -
Yvonneem, I ignore random telephone calls from DCA's basically because I have not revealed or given my home telephone number to anyone other than family and work colleagues, it's ex Directory and I'm on the TPS register. If they have my number, they have it without my consent! (This is because I was harrassed so badly by my husbands ex who threatened to have me killed because I cut her son's toenails - ahhh but that's an entirely different matter altogether! !)
It may be the Churchill Insurance "debt" which AIC have bought off them. I would wait for a letter from AIC and then get in touch, by writing, asking for more detail!
AIC are ever so ever so "posh" and prefer their staff used surnames instead of being a little more personal and using first names.0 -
Thanks for that, I have heard nothing else and nothing has arrived by mail. I would have thought that I would have had a letter by now or a call to my landline but nothing up to yet. I will ignore it as you say.
Thanks again0
