Obviously you have to have all the figures before you do it, but do HMRC only update their website on a certain date for this?

Good question, when does HMRC send out the tax return pack ? I know my hubby is owed some money back from the tax man so we want to get his return in asap.

Anyone ?

I am sure it is april or may 2009.

Just registered on line for Self Assessment, waiting for the activation code through the post, will go online in April when I've got my figures and see if I can do it.

Usually within the first seven working days from 5th April from my distant memory.

From the HMRC site :-

Soon after each new tax year (6 April) we send a Notice to complete a Tax Return for the previous tax year to everyone who we know is required to complete one. If you do your return on paper, the Notice to File is the paper tax return itself. If you usually do it online, we send you a letter (called the 'Notice to File') telling you to do the return online.

I have received the Activation code and activated the account, so will go on-line in April when I have my figures.

Last year I got my refund within a week!

I got my pack late last week and done it yesterday online with no probs

No refund for me sadly , but then I am only owe a small amount and I just get them to deduct it from my PAYE.
