Hello. Funny that you should show up here whilst I am on the forum. With that name. My interests. And you've also posted a debt I have with Moorcroft for that amount and funnily enough I've just received a letter from them along those lines. And to reduce the debt. Should I be reaching for the speed dial on my phone right now to a solicitor?? Or, maybe, the police? Because I will you know if this is what I think it is. So be warned.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Daleks, i would write to them making this offer making it clear that there is a time limit to accept as the funds will be coming from a 3rd party. Only offer what you can afford to pay and state by when payment will be made. eg end of the month.
There is a template letter on the nationaldebtline website that you could use which states that the offer is in 'full and final' settlement rather than partial settlement and that you will be absolved of any further liability.
If they don't accept it then there's not much you can do about that, but i'd say it was worth trying. Just make sure you don't send any payment until you have confirmation in writing. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Daleks, I'm none the wiser either. Back to your problem. The only way to find out is to offer them what you can afford and wait to see what they say.LBM Nov 06 -Highest debt £37,000

in my experience mate, moorcroft are full of poo.
i had a debt with them for 190. they offered a saving if paid in one go.
i rang up, the guy said i could settle the debt for 140. i thought 'champion'. 50 quid saving. anyway, once i'd agreed, he claimed it was rejected and i had to pay full 190. i said i couldnt afford that, and could i pay over 3 months. he said no, i could afford to pay 140 a few mins earlier, so would have to pay that and then 50 pound the month after.
instead i just bit the bullet and paid all in one go.0 -
And a perfectly good example of why you should never phone them up.
