Before we lose the Argos Board, I'd like to say a big thank you to all the helpful staff at the new Livingston Almondvale South Retail Park for their help yesterday. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and I'll certainly use them as my "home" store from now on.

Its a lovely big store with lots of beds and furniture on display which was good to see in the flesh rather than their brochures.

Hope to see some of the staff here on MSE after I gave them the website :j

We're losing the Argos board? I didn't know that.

Still, not a bad thing, I have never understood why it had to have it's own forum anyway, no other shop does.

The OP is a mod so maybe they're privy to some information that we haven't been told about. It says in the sticky says the Argos board is here to help find cheap bargains. But I think a lot of the threads are about refunds, delivery, etc.

At the time the Argos sub board was set up it was very much needed but it was some years ago and things change.

Grabbit is a strange place to merge it really. Granted, a lot of posts are about offers and stuff, but an equal number aren't, some are more "Shop but don't drop" related.

Anyway, I've posted that opinion in the proposition thread as well.

A few years ago the end of catalogue clearance was swamping the grabbit board, due to the high number of extreme bargains, which led to the establishment of this board. Things have changed now.

As to why posts are being amalgamated with grabbit - they have to go somewhere and no one wants to spend time splitting them, and they will be off the first page anyway.
