If it wasn't for the advice and experience of others I would definately be burying my head in the sand and really worrying about how I would pay me debt off.

Coming on here is such a motivator for me and when (eventually!) I am debt free hopefully I will have a little bit of advice to help others!

Having had the fortune to be debt free before this site was up and running It is still a superb site and I don't think I will ever not find something on the site or the chat forum of use to me or my familly and friends.

I try to recommend this site whenever I can and will still continue all the time that you can get such good advice.

When we get to a million members or even 500,000, or even 250,000 the financial institutions and shops that continually rip off the British Public will have to take note because they will not be able to make money so easily.

To Martin and everyone who contributes to the site keep up all the good work. :A

Great idea, but I think I speak for a lot of people by saying that this site is like Royston Vasey - "You'll never leave!" - even after becoming debt free - so sorry Martin - you don't get rid of us that easily!!!!

Like a few others I became debt free before finding this board. However, it is so usefull no matter what state your finances are in that I plan to be around offering advice and asking for it for some time. My recent flirt with pensions and ISA's has taught me that every aspect of banking is just, well, crap!
If you think getting out of debt means no more sneaky bank tactics then think again. When you actually have money they are even sneakier at taking it off you and giving you little in return.

The paranoid amongst us were right all along, but don't watch the skies - watch your finances

And can I also add - the thought of becoming debt free (while I admit it is a nice thought) isn't such a big deal for me now! I am enjoying watching the amounts slowly come down! That gives me more of a buzz!
