Viewing a copy of a will

Is there a cheap way to see a copy of a will? A relative of my husband died in October and always promised to leave him a couple of mementos (not valuable but personal). There have been rifts in the family so cannot ask anyone what has happened to these items but we would like to see if they are mentioned in the will.

Write to York Probate Registry with a £5 cheque and if there is a Will and probate is granted, they will send you a copy. There may well not be a Grant yet, and there may never be one if the estate was less than £20k in deceased's sole name.0
