Im so upset.
We transferred £200 from our joint accont (DH & I's account) into DHs TSB account so we can pay off the monthly £164.00 off his loan with them. AND WHAT DO THEY DO (THe 3rd time in row theyve done this:mad: )...tak out the charges!!! not the loan!
Just recieved a letter saying they couldnt take the £164.00 out this month even though we made sure we put £200 in there!?
So they thought oh lets take out those charges and then we were left with nothing for the loan...so we will be charged again again again
WE only have 2 more months payments left. Have been told we can only pay the loan off in full if we go to a branch ourseleves. !!!!!!?
I want to pay it off over the phone. Im sick of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im in tears...Only have 0.38p for the next 14 days to last us. I have 2 kids too.
Just signed another 6 months rental contract on this house and now I wish I hadnt and moved back with family. WE cant cope anymore:mad:
Sorry guys Im feeling so down..I wish a hole would appear and Id jump!

Sorry to hear about this; however I noted that this is the third time it has happened. I would have been down the bank after the first time it had happened to ensure it didn't happen again.
I'm sure there are some letter templates that are available that could help (and I'm sure someone will indicate what these are); however I would make an appointment with the bank and not leave until it is resolved.
Good luck...0 -

Hi I had similar problems with my account - I argued that the charges were unreasonable in the first place as £30 for bouncing something against my overdraft is not reasonable which then took me overdrawn and then added nore charges at a later date, that then took me overdrawn...more charges at a later date....
My advice is to call them, tell them the original charges were not reasonable - that you have made efforts to make sure the money is there before the laon is to be taken out but because of these charges it has not happened. This has now happened 3 times and you want the charges back. Also I think this will be going on your credit file and I would ask for a correction to be done.
I am not in any way qualified to give financial advice but this is what I did and it worked. Goodluck !!!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Thanks..Angely pe Im also worried this will affec our credit file too.

I would definately look at claiming back all charges from the last 6 years.
Have you looked at doing this?
Instead of transferring money to an account to pay the loan, i would advise cancelling any directdebit and sending a cheque with a letter detailing what the money is to be for.
Is there any payment protection insurance (PPI) for the loan or any other products that you could possibly claim back if they have been missold? After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

DH has made appointment for Friday morning to see the local branch adviser. Will take all paperwork with him. Will also mention about going back 6 years and reclaiming charges (thanks George)
Also will hopefully find a way of settling the loan off so we have no more monthyl payments to come out what so ever.
Still feel crap though. Gonna have to move in 6 mths into a smaller place, cheaper rent. Will make sure its near kids school so wont need to drive and save money on petrol.
Things are really tight at moment. I cant believe how expensive it is just to exsist nowadays!!!? Anyone else bemused?SAVING FOR OUR FIRST HOUSE DEPOSIT

Hi Sugar, have you phoned them? This seems to be totally unreasonable. Phone them and see what they say, they may refund the charges. What were you charged £165 for? Nothin ventured......
