Returns to Next?

I was given a pair of trousers by a friend at the weekend. She had bought them from Next online. She didn't like them when they arrived, but can't be bothered doing returns. She offered them to me and I loved them. They are my size but when I tried them on they are a little too long. Next also do these trousers in Petite fitting (which I take). Is it possible to take them to a Next shop and do an exchange? They are fully tagged.

If not I can take them up, but as sewing is not my strong point, I would prefer to exchange them.

You can try .It will depend if they stock those trousers. Some directory stuff doesn't seem to hit the shops.
  • also not all regular trousers are available in petite. the choice of petite trousers is quite limited.
i would take them to a dry cleaners to get them taken up - i can sew to save my life either!!
    or wonderweb!!!!
  • I would try returning to Next first - they are usually really good, tell them they were a present and that you really need the petite and if its available they can even order it in! :T

If its not then you've lost nothing except a trip to your nearest Next!

  • There should be no problem in exchanging them. If they are availble in the Directory in Petite then the store should be able to order them in for you, even if they dont stock them.

You'll have no problem exchanging them in store, my friend always does it!!!
    I haven't got one!
  • Next will definately swop them for you, you should have no problems at all. Like someone has already said they will even order in a shorter leg for you.
Good luck but you won't need it :j

Some Next stores can be a bit funny. I needed to change some boots bought for me as a pressie that were the wrong size. One shop I went to said they don't refund or exchange without the receipt on items over £25.

I went to another one that had no problem exchanging them  .

Motto being, if you have no luck in one shop, try another!
    :smileyhea
  • I'd definately take them back to Next, they'll check their computers to see if they're available in a Petite and if they are, they'll order in. If they don't make them, they'll let you swap for something else or give you gift vouchers. This is their policy, so if you get a jobsworth that doesn't want to do it, just ask for the supervisor
