Make up - hide blushes??

I have never worn make up so I really am a complete novice! I stood in boots yesterday surrounded by row after row of makeup and did not know where to start! I have two months to learn how to do make up so I don't feel a clown on the day.
I am mostly looking for something to help disguise my blushes. I blush terribly when stressed, worried, nervous too warm and I know I will look like a tomato for my pictures!
Also I am getting married in Cyprus I am not trying to get a sun tan but should I factor in the possible change of colour when looking for my 'mask'?
Can anyone recommended what I should be looking for foundation/concealer etc thanks

You could ask one of the makeup girls in boots, they are usually very helpful. I know it sounds scary, but I think it is actually a light green powder that you are after to reduce redness on your face, it neutralises the colour. Definitely ask the makeup women though.

Gracie I too have this problem (as well as sensitive skin and mild roseca) and I use clinique. Yes its not cheap, but the staff are wonderful and they show you exactly what to do.
And yes the 'anti redness' range is a green solution that covers the redness (dont worry you cant see the green). But boy does it work!!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
I use maxfactor for most things - it's a lot cheaper than the premium brands but definitely does the job. I have tried many many other brands in the past and have never found any as good. In any big boots store it has a counter so I would second the advice of everyone else and say go to the counter and tell them what you want.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0

Ask the makeup girls in Boots or even one of the Department stores, they will show you how to apply the makeup. I stopped wearing makeup when I started losing my sight (only got 5% vision in my left eye) but I decided that I wanted to start wearing it again. I went to Bobbi Brown in Selfridges and I went on a day when their artistic director was visiting from America and he showed me not only how to apply makeup but to stand back and look to see if I had applied it evenly. Bobbie Brown's give you a piece of paper showing what they have used and where to apply it on the face which is handy. All it takes is a bit of know how and confidence - my confidence has been boosted no end and I wear makeup now nearly every day. Makeup ladies (and gents) are only too willing to show you how to apply it and to get the right look.

It's a good idea thoMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Oh yes I see that now lol I do apologise. On the foundation subject I've used Dior airflash foundation spray before it's just fab, gives you a perfect finish with no fuss, why not get a trial size off ebay to test.0

Definitely go to the make up counters and ask them, you should be able to book an appointment and they will suss out exactly what you need and how to apply it. I would try a few different counters as you may prefer one type or another. I love Benefit or Clinique, but see what you fancy. You are not obliged to buy, usually they are great at helping. They should be able to advise on sun tan as well!0

Hey,
I'd definitely recommend Benefit, they do great makeovers and I've always found the staff approachable and not snooty, like some of the others can be! Their 'you're bluffing' concealer stick is designed to reduce redness and I like it. I also like Bobbi Brown and again find their makeup tends to work well.
I hope you get it sorted, and try not to worry!0 -
At my local college, you can have a make up lesson (the students are learning hair and beauty).0
