Equifax charged me on 29th day

I took out Equifax 30 days free offer on 11th Feb 2009.

On 10 March I spent most of day trying to find out how to cancel the dam thing. Found a phone number and kept being put on hold!!!!

Today i find the free '0800 7839421' number on this site and within minutes my account is cancelled!:T

But i'm am told as this is the 30th day, I have been charged for it and they will have to issue a refund!! I insisted it wasnt the 30th day but the woman on the phone insisted it was. Then I said it was FREE for 30 days and should only be charged on the 31st day. She said no, its free for 30 days but it gets charged on the 30th day. I couldnt be bothered wasting any more time with this so confirmed that she would refund the money then hung up.

But as far as I'm concerned it isn't the 30th day today, Feb only had 28 days in it. 11th of Feb to 11th March is 29 days!

My bank account has no money in until payday so the request should be refused. But if it isnt and it forces me overdrawn, would I be able to claim any charges back?

Wont be dealing with any of these credit report agencies again. They're easy to sign up to but trying to cancel is a nightmare!!! There should be some regulation to make it just as easy to cancel!

I signed up with Credit Expert a while back to see my own credit records, they wanted money for a 'score' which is an irrelevant figure with absolutely no value!

I checked all the information they held on me and that's all I really needed; I managed to cancel my account online, they called me up to confirm and the guy was clearly under the impression I wanted to stay because he kept informing me I still had a good two weeks free time to check the details - I said it was quite alright I'd seen all I needed to see - he then tried to upsell the 'score' asking if I'd found the time to check it. I just agreed, said I found it quite a shock that it was a good number and soon enough he was off the phone.

They want your money - I mean who doesn't nowadays? If I could figure out a legitimate way, I'd like your money too!

I would recommend reading the small-print and see if there's any way you can argue a case for a refund.
