Looking for hard wearing shoes!

To put things short as possible - I'm lucky to make a pair of shoes last 6 months, a year if I'm lucky. :(

CAT shoes seems to last me the longest, say 9 months average - been even my 5 month old CAT shoes are looking a bit worse for wear. I paid £50 for them, I think.

To some people £50 for a pair of shoes is pennies - but for me, it's a lot of money, especially when they don't last!

When I'm looking for shoes, I try to make sure they have a good sole on them. Next I make sure it looks comfortable inside. After that, I try them on and see if I like them - if so, I'm happy.

The sort of shoes I like, have a sort of lip (?) round the edge of the toe - very similar to these: http://www.littlewoods.com/rf/p.do/men/footwear/shoes/hush-puppies?product=444301011&D=444301011&thisprod=444301011&Ntk=group_search&SNu=pca_id&SN=152%204294484632%204294947521%2085%204294493635&seo=t&Nu=this_product&N=152%204294484632%204294947521%2085%204294493635&Dx=mode+matchall&Ntt=444301011&Np=1

Please help me find a hard wearing pair of shoes, or tell me some good brands!

My step dad always buys Clarks shoes in this style & he swears by them!

You could try Timberland or POD. They both do shoes in that sort of style. Seeing as I've never worn men's shoes, I can't say exactly how long they last, but they sure seem sturdy!

Best places to get them-TK Maxx on the high street, Amazon or M and M Sports online.

Try Clarks shoes. They last quite well.
Why not take them back and complain? You have nothing to lose and you may get a refund!

Actually horse, I might just try that - I still have the receipt and box as it so happens!

Failing that, I'm on the hunt for some POD shoes. :D

  • I'm hard on shoes too, but have a pair of Clark clogs that are holding up rather nicely for a year now so I can recommend them first hand.
