Valuation less than offer

We've had an offer accepted on a house. Valuation has come back £10k (about 3.5%) less than our offer.

Is it normal now or at least not unreasonable for us to ask for a reduction in price to match the valuation?

No contracts have been signed yet.

Tell the vendor and ask them to drop the price £10,000
House prices are still dropping so I hope you have a large deposit !
Show them the valuation and see if they still want to sell and you still want to buy.
