Financial Associations on Credit Report

Hi,

How far (deep) are financial associations considered?

For example, would the credit rating of person A (poor history) affect the credit rating of person C where the connection between the two is a mortgage between A&B and where B&C live together?

The great Martin was on Radio 2 the other day and he was adamant you are not connection to your wife or partner unless you have a joint bank account or joint mortgage.

He said it is no longer true that if you have a lodger or a son etc living with you who has a bad credit history that it affects your credit. If it has happened, you can ask for it to be removed or amended on your credit history

"If you have financial commitments with another person or people, such as a joint bank account or mortgage, the financial status of those other people could affect your application."

This would back up your statement that simply living with someone would not impact ones credit rating. How about a more definite financial commitment such as a joint account between persons B&C? How would the credit rating carry across from person A to person C?
